How We Met:
Valerie and Stephen met in Cleveland where Valerie lived for three years.
We met each other on March 17, 2006. Our first date was on June 16, 2006 and we have been dating since then, even after Valerie moved back to Jakarta in February 2007.
How We Got Engaged:
Stephen visited Valerie in Indonesia on March 12, 2008. After spending a couple of days in Jakarta, we went to Bali for a four-days vacation.
On March 19, a day before we returned to Jakarta, Stephen and Valerie visited Uluwatu Temple. Uluwatu is one of the spectacular temples in Bali, located high on a cliff overlooking the ocean.
The view there was indeed fantastic. We walked, took pictures, and while we're standing there enjoying the waves of the beautiful Indian Ocean, Stephen asked Valerie the question, and she said yes. We shared the happiness and excitement with our families and friends. The next day, a day before Stephen returned to Cleveland, we had a small engagement party in Jakarta.
